Baroo is a modern Korean restaurant in the heart of Los Angeles, renowned for its innovative approach to cuisine and a free-spirited culinary ethos. In September 2023, Baroo relaunched its dining establishment, seeking to create a space that embodied their unique identity. Tŷ Syml had the privilege of collaborating with Baroo during their relaunch, and provided them with ALGÂU seaweed lampshades for their new restaurant. These lampshades are not only aesthetically captivating but also responsibly crafted from hand-harvested seaweed from the Pembrokeshire coast.

The main challenge of this project was to ensure that the ALGÂU seaweed lampshades met Baroo's high standards for aesthetics and durability. Tŷ Syml worked closely with Baroo and the architecture studio OWIU to customise the design and construction to fit the restaurant's ambiance, whilst ensuring that the lampshades could withstand the rigours of a busy restaurant environment.

The ALGÂU seaweed lampshades now grace Baroo's revamped interior, adding an extra layer of ambience to the restaurant from the glow of the ALGÂU. They beautifully complement the modern, rustic décor and the innovative spirit that defines Baroo. Our collaboration with Baroo reflects our shared commitment to craftsmanship and the pursuit of culinary excellence. We are thrilled to have played a part in enhancing Baroo's atmosphere and look forward to seeing how this renowned establishment continues to push the boundaries of modern Korean cuisine.
